Hanna Green gains the upper hand

Her performance wasn’t the most hotly awaited on the start line, but she was the one raising her arms in victory at the finish. Well placed on entering the home straight, American Hanna Green has posted the finest victory in her career today during the 800m at the IAAF Diamond League in Paris, with a time just shy of her personal best. Jamaican Natoya Goule, second in 1’58’’59, and Ugandan Winnie Nanyondo (1’58’’83) will accompany her on the podium. Competing on home turf, French athlete Rénelle Lamote pulled out all the stops to qualify for Doha and finished the race breathless in 2’00’’40, in eighth place.
