Kenyan hat-trick in the 3,000m steeplechase

Kenyan Beatrice Chepkoech has taken the win ahead of her compatriots in the 3,000m steeplechase at the MEETING de PARIS.

Last year, the Stade de France enjoyed its first world record in the history of the event thanks to her. This year, in Charléty, the athlete from Bahrain Ruth Jebet hoped to pull off a repeat performance, but she had to make do with fourth due to falling in the river jump in the last third of the race. Victory ultimately went to Kenyan Beatrice Chepkoech in 9’01’’69, who was quite well ahead of her compatriots Hyvin Kiyeng (9’06) and Celliphine Chepteek Chespol, who posted the second fastest time in history back in May, but managed third in 9’07’’54 this Saturday. Ethiopian Neda Diro and Spaniard Perez Moreno beat their personal best in this race, whilst French athlete Maeva Danois secured fifteenth and final place.
