Kiprop surges to victory, Bosse fourth

Kenya’s Asbel Kiprop posted the fastest time in the world this year in the men’s 800m at the MEETING AREVA, while France’s Pierre-Ambroise Bosse came home fourth.

France’s Pierre-Ambroise Bosse brought a touch of the World Cup to the men’s 800m at the MEETING AREVA, donning the French national football team’s kit to post his personal best of the year in a time of 1:44.23. Though in contention heading down the final straight, the young Frenchman faded and could only finish fourth, with victory going to Kenya’s Asbel Kiprop in 1:43.34, a world best for the year. Second place went to Botswana’s Nijel Amos (1:43.70), enough to move him to the top of the Diamond race standings, with Cuba’s Yeimer Lopez third in 1:43.71, his PB for the year. Having started the day tied at the top of the standings with Amos, Kenya’s Robert Biwott finished a lowly ninth in a time of 1:45.21.
