Newly crowned European champions Alice Finot and Gabriel Tual have confirmed their presence at the Wanda Diamond League Meeting de Paris on 7 July at the Charléty Stadium. Agathe Guillemot, Rose Loga, Sasha Zhoya, Renaud Lavillenie and Mélina Robert-Michon will also rank among the stellar French contingent on the home straight to the Olympic Games.
King Duplantis is back!
Three years on from his last performance at Charléty, Swedish athlete Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis, who has just improved on his own world record in the pole vault (6.24 m), will again be competing at the Wanda Diamond League Meeting de Paris on Sunday 7 July. The events set to make up the 2024 edition of the Wanda Diamond League Meeting de Paris have been announced this Tuesday. The women’s 100 m, the men’s 200 m and 800 m, together with the men’s pole vault, will rank among the disciplines not to be missed, late afternoon on Sunday 7 July in the Charléty Stadium. It promises to be an absolutely epic show in the presence of global stars and France’s top athletes.
A crazy night in Paris
The middle-distance runners set the Charléty Stadium track alight with world records for Lamecha Girma in the 3000 m steeplechase and Faith Kipyegon in the 5000 m. Meantime, Jakob Ingebrigtsen took the best performance in the world of all time to a whole new level in the 2-mile event, in what was a truly unforgettable evening.
