A new look and a novel date… The MEETING de PARIS is evolving and retains its vocation of offering the general public “athletics at its best”. A great show, top-level performances from athletes just back from the Olympic stadium in Rio – the meeting has got what it takes to inspire spectators to hit the road to the Stade de France on 27 August 2016.

MEETING AREVA on the podium !
It’s know official, the Parisian stage of IAAF Diamond League organised in the Stade de France has become third meeting in the world, behind Monaco and Eugene, according to the 2015 ranking established by all-athletics.com.

The world record will wait, but not the performances
Even though the Stade de France will have to wait at least another year to enjoy its first world record, the athletes shone at this MEETING AREVA, racking up a series of best performances in the world this year.

Powell and Vicaut round off the MEETING AREVA in style
Asafa Powell beat his season’s best in the 100m to take the win at the MEETING AREVA, whilst Jimmy Vicaut, second, equalled the European record.

No record for the Ethiopians
Whilst they were openly targeting the world 5,000m record, Ethiopians Genzebe Dibaba and Almaz Ayana failed in their bid.

The Greek celebrates, Lavillenie disappointed
Greek Konstantinos Filippidis stood out in the pole vault competition at the MEETING AREVA, thus depriving Renaud Lavillenie, just fifth, of a seventh victory at the Stade de France.

Spotakova comes back on top
With a throw of 64.42m, Olympic champion, Czech Barbora Spotakova, has won the javelin competition at the MEETING AREVA.

Tsyplakov the surprise star
Whilst one might have been expecting Qatari Mutaz Essa Barshim to shine, ultimately it was the Russian Daniil Tsyplakov who won the high jump competition at the MEETING AREVA.

Ibarguen obviously!
The world champion, Olympic No.2 and leader of the Diamond League ranking, Caterine Ibarguen, totally excelled in the triple jump competition at the MEETING AREVA.

Ortega wins a gala 110m hurdles
Cuban Orlando Ortega won a very high-flying 110m hurdles at the MEETING AREVA, ahead of American David Oliver and Russian Sergey Shubenkov.
