With temperatures of 32°C and a humidity rate of 39%, conditions are perfect for the middle-distance running at this MEETING AREVA 2015. And Kenyan Jairus Kipchoge Birech, leader of the Diamond League, has really made the most of it by winning the 3,000m steeplechase with the best performance in the world this year and the meeting record to boot in a time of 7’58’’83. However, Birech would have doubtless been beaten by his rival Evan Jager, had he not fallen at the end of the race. The American still managed to improve on his own North American record by over four seconds (8’00’’45). Kenyan Conseslus Kipruto completes the podium in 8’09’’90. Two runners pulled off the best time of their career (Kenyan Clement Kimutai Kemboi, 5th, and Russian Iigizar Safiulin, 10th) during this race. The only competing Frenchman, Yoann Kowal, finished 12th, over 23 seconds shy of the winner.
