Five hundredths of a second better for Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce! Already the holder of the best time this year in the 100m after running a 10’’79 on 26 June, the Jamaican has done even better at the MEETING AREVA. In a time of 10’’74, the double world and Olympic champion of the 100m has also broken the meeting record. A record, which dated back to 1998 (Marion Jones, in 10’’88)! Fraser-Pryce, now leader of the Diamond League ranking, beat in Nigerian Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor (10’’80, her season’s best) and American English Gardner (10’’97). Sixth, Marie José Ta Lou from the Ivory Coast beat her personal best, whilst the only competing French runner, Véronique Mang, finished in ninth with her season’s best of 11’’29.
