Despite setting a new world record of 12 :20 in the women’s 100m hurdles on 22 July in London, Kendra Harrison (USA) did not take part in Rio 2016 after surprisingly failing to impress at the US Olympic trials. On Saturday at the Stade de France, the resilient American showed that she is still one of the best hurdlers in the world, crossing the line first in 12:44 seconds, ahead of her compatriot, Dawn Harper-Nelson (12:65), and Great Britain’s Cindy Ofili (12:66). The French duo of Cindy Billaud and Sandra Gomis finished sixth and eighth respectively, in 13:02 and 13:18.
