Thanks to a jump of 8.19m on his final attempt, American Michael Hartfield (25 yrs) has secured a win in the long jump at the MEETING AREVA. He beats Frenchman Kafétien Gomis (8.13m) and Australian Fabrice Lapierre (8.07m). Salim Sdiri, the other Frenchman in the running, has secured eighth place with a jump of 7.64m, his only measured jump. Also of note is that Spaniard Eusebio Caceres, fourth, beat his season’s best, thanks to a jump of 8.06m. With the eight points secured this evening, Hartfield joins Greg Rutherford at the top of the Diamond League ranking.
