Colombian Caterine Ibarguen completely dominated the triple jump competition at the MEETING de PARIS 2018 on Saturday evening at the Charléty Stadium. The reigning Olympic champion landed a jump of 14.83m (equalling her best performance of the season) on her third attempt to win the competition ahead of Jamaican Kimberly Williams (2nd, 14.56m) and American Tori Franklin (3rd, 14.49m). The latter, who has previously jumped the best distance of the year at 14.84m, posted a slightly disappointing performance. However, Ibarguen, jumping 14.72m on her final attempt, didn’t manage to take the lead in the annual ranking.
Meantime, German Kristin Gierisch achieved her best performance of her career (14.42m) and finished 4th. French athletes Rouguy Diallo (14.27m, personal best) and Jeanine Assani Issouf (14.16m) respectively ranked 7th and 9th.
