Ten season’s bests broken out of a total of sixteen athletes at the start! This 1,500m at the MEETING AREVA certainly lived up to expectations and it’s Kenyan Silas Kiplagat, who came off best, even though he admitted that he was only running at 80% of his potential this evening. He took victory in 3’30’’12, the best performance of the season, thus extending his lead at the top of the Diamond League ranking. The athlete from Djibouti Ayanleh Souleiman finished second, in 3’30’’17, whilst Kenyan Ronald Kwemoi, third, beat his season’s best in 3’30’’43. Another Kenyan, Robert Kiptoo Biwott, finished fifth, with a personal best to boot, as did French athletes Morhad Amdouni and Samir Dahmani, 13th and 14th. Finally of note is the fourth place secured by Olympic champion Taoufik Makhloufi.
