As expected, the American champion dazzled on the Charléty Stadium’s new track thanks to his massive talent. Excellent on the bend and very speedy down the straight, Lyles broke the Meeting de Paris record, which had belonged to a certain Usain Bolt since 2013. It equated to a season’s best for him after his very impressive run in 19’’50 in Lausanne back in July. Behind him, Turk Ramil Guliyev secured second in 20’’01, ahead of Canadian Aaron Brown (20’’13). Christophe Lemaitre was right in the mix before fading slightly at the end of the course to bag a final time of 20’’40 and a fifth place.
