It was one of the most eagerly awaited races of this MEETING AREVA 2015. The men’s 110m hurdles very much lived up to expectations and ultimately it was Cuban Orlando Ortega who stood out, in a time of 12’’94, a new best performance in the world this season. He finished ahead of American David Oliver (12’’98, his season’s best), who nevertheless remains leader of the Diamond League. Russian Sergey Shubenkov completes the podium, improving on his 2012 Russian record by three hundredths of a second. Fourth, American Aleec Harris also secured a personal best time in 13’’11. The French hurdlers were outside the Top 4: Pascal Martinot-Lagarde 5th in 13’’18, Garfield Darien 6th in 13’’19 (his season’s best) and Dimitri Bascou 7th in 13’’31. Olympic champion Aries Merritt missed out, finishing last in 13’’44.
