The organisers of the MEETING AREVA can give themselves a pat on the back for deciding to organise a men’s 110m hurdles race at this year’s event, even if it did not count towards the Diamond League standings. The race saw Jamaica’s Hansle Parchment run 12.94 to set a new national record and the world’s fastest time this year. Taking second behind him was France’s Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, who lowered his personal best for the second time in two days, taking it down to 13.05. Cuba’s Orlando Ortega was third in a time of 13.10, his best of the season. World champion David Oliver was fifth in 13.26, while the two other French contenders, Dimitri Bascou and Ladji Doucoure, finished sixth and ninth with respective times of 13.27 and 13.63.
