The timing of festivities has been announced. The Meeting de Paris will take place on Saturday 18 June at the Charléty Stadium. It will be the seventh leg in the 2022 vintage of the Wanda Diamond League, some two days after the Oslo leg. An enticing four weeks before the start of the World Championships in Eugene (United States), this slot ensures that the athletes will be at the peak of fitness and able to post some excellent performances in and around the Parisian track.
And that’s not the only good news as the full programme has also been unveiled. Some fourteen events will bear the Wanda Diamond League stamp to further enliven this gala evening. They include the women’s 100 m, ripe with promise a year on from the demonstration by Elaine Thompson-Herah, as well as the men’s pole vault and the men’s 5,000 m where the French could well take the competition by storm.
There will also be plenty to enthral hurdles enthusiasts too, since there’s a 100 m and a 110 m hurdles event on the cards, and fans will be treated to women and men’s races. Equally, the throwing competition is set to pack quite a punch in the form of the women’s discus and javelin events.
The ticket office will open on Saturday 22 January, the day of the Meeting de Paris Indoor at the AccorArena.
