The Kenyans utterly dominated the 3,000m steeplechase at the MEETING de PARIS on Saturday evening at Charléty, bagging the top four places in the race. Beatrice Chepkoech took the win in 8’59"36, ahead of her compatriots Celliphine Chespol (2nd, 9’01"82), Hyvin Kiyeng (3rd, 9’03"86) and Norah Jeruto (4th, 9’04"17).
Chepkoech made the most of the opportunity to beat her personal best and snatch the best performance in the world this season from Kiyeng, the previous title holder with a time of 9’04"96. The latter was way off the mark to take a win this Saturday in Paris, where conditions were ideal.
