Spotakova comes back on top

With a throw of 64.42m, Olympic champion, Czech Barbora Spotakova, has won the javelin competition at the MEETING AREVA.

It’s the first victory of the season for Barbora Spotakova, the reigning Olympic champion in the javelin. Thanks to a throw of 64.42m, her season’s best, on her fifth attempt, the Czech won at the MEETING AREVA. Australian Kimberley Mickle and South African Sunette Viljoen complete the podium, respectively throwing 63.80m and 63.15m. Spotakova and Viljoen are now leading the Diamond League, tied on points. Of note is the fact that French thrower Matilde Andraud beat her season’s best (59.03m) and finishes ahead of Olympic No.2, German Christina Obergföll (58.11m).
