A first attempt at 88.74m and the competition folded! German Johannes Vetter pulled off an excellent first throw in the javelin competition at the MEETING de PARIS and his adversaries never managed to better his performance. He finally took the win with a 72cm lead over Czech Jakub Vadlejch, who equalled his personal best (88.02m). Another German thrower Thomas Röhler, Olympic champion and best performer of the year, couldn’t better third, with a throw of 87.23m on his fourth attempt. Frenchman Jérémy Nicollin finished tenth and last (64.19m).
