Canadian record for Newman

Canadian Alysha Newman has improved on her national record by smashing 4.82m at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Paris.

The women’s pole vault competition was set to have a particularly stellar set of rounds on the Parisian track. And it did with four athletes jumping 4.75m or more. And proceedings rounded off with a little surprise as victory went to Canadian Alysha Newman. After clearing 4.75m on her first attempt, she gave her all at 4.82m, a bar she erased on her third attempt to secure a national record. Greek athlete Katerina Stefanidi and American Sandi Morris nailed second and third with 4.75m.
