Javelin joy for Abdelrahman

Egypt’s Ihab Abdelrahman beat off the field to win the men’s javelin at MEETING AREVA.

Egypt’s Ihab Abdelrahman threw 87.10m with his penultimate effort of the night to win the men’s javelin competition at the MEETING AREVA from Finland’s Tero Pitkamaki (86.63m, his season best) and Germany’s Thomas Rohler (84.74m, a PB). Reigning world champion and Diamond Race leader Vitezslav Vesely of Czech Republic finished fifth with a throw of 81.43m.
