The prize goes to Elaine Thompson
Elaine Thompson has clearly sorted out the physical glitches, which were preventing her from pushing out of the starting blocks at the start of the season. The Olympic 100m champion was the first off the start line and rapidly moved up into the lead of the race, where she remained right the way to the finish. She quite easily took the win in 10’’98, with a comfortable lead over Marie-Josée Ta Lou, credited with 11’’13. Today’s third place went to Dutch athlete Dafne Schippers, clocked at 11’’15. French runner Carolle Zahi tied on seventh in 11’’25.
