Okagbare does just enough

The Diamond Race leader in the women’s 200m, Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare edged out Allyson Felix to take victory at the MEETING AREVA.

Blessing Okagbare extended her Diamond Race lead at the MEETING AREVA, winning the women’s 200m by a mere two hundredths of a second from the USA’s Allyson Felix. The Nigerian crossed the line in a time of 22.32, with the four-time Olympic champion second in 22.34. Third place went to Anthonique Strachan of Bahamas (22.54), while France’s Myriam Soumare finished a creditable fourth in a season-best 22.60. Reigning world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica failed to shine, however, finishing a disappointing fifth in 22.63.
