Richards-Ross proves too strong

There were no surprises in the women’s 400m at the MEETING AREVA, as Olympic champion Sanya Richards-Ross ran out victorious.

The USA’s Sanya Richards-Ross stamped her authority on the women’s 400m at the Stade de France on Saturday. The reigning Olympic champion led from virtually start to finish, clocking a time of 50.10, to win from the Jamaican pair of Stephenie Ann McPherson (50.40, her PB for the season) and Novlene Williams-Mills, who retains the Diamond Race lead despite finishing third in 50.68. France’s two representatives brought up the rear, with Floria Guei seventh in a time of 51.89 and Marie Gayot eighth in 52.05.
