Caster Semenya sailed through the women\u2019s 800m at the MEETING de PARIS, despite some very stiff opposition on Saturday at the Charl\u00e9ty Stadium. The double Olympic champion ran the best time of her career so far in 1\u201954&#8243;25. She took the win ahead of Burundi athlete Francine Niyonsaba (2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 1\u201955&#8243;86) and American Ajee Wilson (1\u201957&#8243;11).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;font-family: Calibri\">There was also satisfaction for the two French athletes competing in the race: Renelle Lamote, 8th&nbsp;<\/span>in&nbsp;1\u201959&#8243;25 and Claudia Saunders, 11<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;in&nbsp;2\u201900&#8243;47. They both achieved the minimum requirement for the European Championships in Berlin (7-12 August 2018). &#8220;<i>The start of my season wasn\u2019t fantastic.
