The air of the summits is set to blow in the Stade de France, on Saturday 4 July 2015, at the MEETING AREVA. In addition to Renaud Lavillenie, king of world pole-vaulting and a familiar face at the French stage of the IAAF Diamond League, two other athletes are making serious headway at very high altitude: Qatari Mutaz Essa Barshim and Ukrainian Bohdan Bondarenko. The two high-jump prodigies who, for the past two seasons, have been embroiled in a duel, could well smash the world record in the discipline - 2.45m by Cuban Javier Sotomayor on 27 July 1993 - and earn a place in the history books

IAAF Diamond League launch : Four French athletes in the running !

The IAAF Diamond League kicks off this weekend, starting with the Doha meeting on Friday. This will quickly link onto the second leg, due to be held in Shanghai on Sunday. Though last year’s two French winners in the overall ranking of this prestigious circuit, Renaud Lavillenie and Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, have had to withdraw (the former is suffering from a minor shoulder injury, the second preferring to play it safe before making his comeback), a total of five French athletes will nevertheless do battle with the world’s elite.

The promotional campaign for the MEETING AREVA 2015 has begun with a little over three months until the event. It is showcasing two athletes, two of the biggest names in world athletics. This duo of superstars from the track will perform at the Stade de France on Saturday 4 July for the French stage of the IAAF Diamond League.
